Port Hope Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Servies is seeking a new Animal Care Assistant/ Customer Service Specialist to join our team!
Our new emergency clinic and wellness hospital services all animals in need. We have a large modern facility with all amenities including in house lab, dental, emergency services, companion wellness appointments.

Our ideal candidate will have a warm welcoming attitude and ability to work with animals of all different sizes and demeanor.

• Strong understanding of animal care and handling techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills
• Basic knowledge of animal health and welfare standards
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
• Laboratory experience is a plus

Responsibilities include(not limited to):

• Assisting Vet Techs
• Assisting with animal restraint
• Working with dogs and cats of different sizes and demeanors.
• Animal care as needed(nail clipping, bathing, ear cleaning etc.)
• Dog walking
• Provide fresh food and water for animals daily
• Reception if needed
• Cleaning and basic house duties
• Greet and assist vistior
• Provide information to clients
• Triaging patients
• Processing referrals
• Intake and discharge of patients
