Description Texas Biomed is searching for an Animal Facilities Maintenance & Welder Technician to join our Facilities team. The Animal Facilities Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations, upkeep and preventive maintenance of the animal cages, equipment, and cage washers. Welding is a critical function of all cage maintenance. The Role · Repair and maintain caging, chutes, transfer cages, feeders and other enrichment items which requires welding · Assists with equipment maintenance (including trucks, vans, golf carts, mules, lift equipment, incinerator, torpedo heaters, pressure washers, etc.) have their fluid levels checked and minor maintenance performed · Initiate and maintain on call programs for emergency repairs, as well as a program designed to keep torpedo heaters in working order during cold season · Maintain animal transport vans, ensuring HVAC units are running properly · Assists with maintenance of all cage washers, including supplies needed, winterizing, and training personnel Our Ideal Candidate · High school diploma or GED, with two(2) or more years of job specific experience required · Welding experience is preferred · Skills in operation and use of general carpentry and metal working tools required · Prefer specialized training in metal craft, blueprint reading, soldering, electrical and plumbing systems · Must have valid driver’s license and meet Texas Biomed driving standards · Full time hourly schedule with rotating 24/7 on-call emergency service, weekends and holidays Who We Are: Join our incredible mission to pave the way for a world free from the fear of infectious disease!
