WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ANIMAL MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN AT ACTIVATE LEARNING?
You will have a minimum level 3 qualification in animal management and experience of working within the animal industry. This would include experience of handling a variety of animal species; i.e. companion animals, birds, fish or exotics species (snakes, lizards, amphibians, invertebrates), along with evidence of managing health and safety in the workplace.

As an Animal Management Technician you will be responsible for the day to day welfare of the livestock; ensuring animal welfare is paramount and in accordance with current legislation. This will also include, maintaining a high standards of cleanliness through the animal facility and support in the maintenance and care of animal stocks and facilities, ensuring that animals have sufficient food and water or catering to special dietary requirements if needed.
Banbury and Bicester College is a centre of excellence in Animal Management and our students benefit from working directly with a variety of animals include aquatics, avians including rare breed poultry, invertebrates, reptiles, a range of mammals including rabbits, marmosets and golden Guernsey goats.
