Scope
As an Animal Shelter Attendant, you will be responsible for providing daily administrative and animal care support at the Animal Shelter. This includes answering calls, processing transactions, maintaining records, and assisting with public inquiries. The role also involves the hands-on care of animals, including feeding, cleaning, socializing, and monitoring their health. The ideal candidate will ensure the shelter’s facilities are maintained, assist with events, and handle animals safely. This position is critical in supporting the shelter’s operations and promoting the welfare of the animals in care.
Responsibilities
Perform clerical duties including but not limited to answering calls, assisting with applications and processing transactions. Provides information and responds to internal and external inquiries, including by email and on social media. Prepare and maintain files and records. Provides support at special events. Pick up supplies and donations as directed. Feed, monitor, care for a variety of animals. Monitors health and welfare of animals. Assists in exercising and socializing animals as directed. Assist other staff with their duties and other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12. Minimum of one-year related experience including working with animals. Valid BC Driver’s License with safe driving history.
