ANIMAL SERVICES TESTING COORDINATOR

    The Animal Testing Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the company’s laboratory animal test programme. This is one of two coordinator positions who must work together to jointly manage the day to day activities of the department’s Animal Technicians and Animal Attendants.
    The role will actively monitor the company’s production and development plans and use these to schedule all animal tests and associated resources to meet the requirements of the plan in compliance with regulatory, GMP/ GLP and animal welfare specifications and policies.
Responsibilities

Develop and coordinate the execution of the testing program to meet the product release schedules by:

  • Developing and maintaining the test schedule.
  • Liaising with all stakeholders when developing the schedule.
  • Developing the test database.
  • Developing and refining test area procedures and workflow.
  • Monitoring compliance with test schedules and procedures.
  • Resolving test scheduling conflicts and resource constraints.
  • Monitoring all test documentation ensuring it is completed in accordance with Good Documentation Practice and providing feedback to staff as required.

Maintain high standard of housekeeping in testing area by:

  • Developing and reviewing cleaning practises.
  • Training colleagues in cleaning procedures.
  • Monitoring area cleaning standards and providing feedback to staff as required.
  • Monitoring all cleaning records ensuring they are completed in accordance with Good Documentation Practice.
  • Monitoring equipment and facilities to ensure they are maintained in a fully operational state

Monitor and ensure a high standard of stockmanship and health awareness of animals is maintained throughout the department by:

  • Training area staff in stockmanship / animal care techniques.
  • Monitoring daily animal husbandry tasks are performed in accordance with written procedures (including rostered weekend work).
  • Monitoring health and treatment of animals ensuring compliance with appropriate standards of animal care.
  • Developing preventative health management programs.
  • Developing reactive health treatment programs.
  • Maintaining health treatment records and database.
  • Monitoring compliance of Prescription Animal Remedy control and usage.
  • Completing assigned training
