To assist the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinator to facilitate and deliver training on mandatory study days for maternity staff, supporting in the education of the wider team relating to the antenatal and newborn screening programme. Make accountable decisions based on knowledge and experience in respect of patient care. Assist the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinator by taking an active role in the antenatal education of service users and their relatives in relation to the antenatal and newborn screening programme.
To work independently when required, and within the screening and wider multidisciplinary teams. To assist the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinator with accurate data input and collection for measuring outcomes. Act as a role model, sharing effective practice and learning from others, promoting a high standard of safe and effective care which is based upon the best evidence. Contribute to service delivery and innovation, ensuring that the service is delivered in line with local, national and trust standards.
Commitment to ongoing service development and quality improvement work. To assist the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinator by participating in audit, risk management, quality, practice and education initiatives to drive and support the implementation of change as necessary Ensure compliance with incident reporting systems to ensure incidents are reported. Awareness of the local risk assessment and risk register. To remain compliant with maternity mandatory training days to remain up to date in line with NMC requirements relating to revalidation.
