EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:
The AIT Policy Manager will require a knowledge of AIT issues in major markets, alongside an analytical capability to develop advocacy which provides genuine, evidence-based research for key policy makers.
She / he needs to familiarise themselves with the key AIT Policy issues and identify the most appropriate advocacy to develop for stakeholders, with the support of the Head of AIT Policy.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The AIT Policy Manager will be part of BAT’s Global CORA Team, and responsible for working together with the Head of Anti-Illicit Trade Policy to develop advocacy in support of our global AIT policy positions and approaches.
The key elements of the role will comprise of the following, inter alia:
The AIT Policy Manager is responsible for implementing the creation of advocacy in support of AIT policy positions around the world, by compiling and analysing the relevant data and research, which will be presented to internal and external stakeholders. This includes the identification of trends in AIT and evaluating the impact of fiscal and regulatory changes on illicit trade, in both combustibles and new categories.
A key component of this role will involve commissioning and managing projects undertaken by independent third parties and sharing the results with regions / DRBUs / end markets.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE
The Central AIT Policy function has, with the support of Regions, DRBUs and End Markets defined a set of key policy issues, which, if addressed through engagement at national and supranational level could help to ‘move the needle’ in reducing the quantum of illicit trade.
In order to engage on these critical policy issues, analysis and research needs to be undertaken, such that policy makers at national and international levels understand the drivers and potential solutions to tackling illicit trade. It is imperative that the AIT Policy Manager is able to play a key part in developing the engagement narrative in several ways including, inter alia:
