With nearly two decades of experience, the IRC is one of the leading providers of high-quality programming to support victims and survivors of human trafficking in the United States and is rapidly expanding this portfolio in Europe. The IRC currently operates anti-trafficking programs in 12 US cities and in 12 countries in Europe, including through partners. IRC is currently implementing a U.S Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Victims of Crime (OVC) funded platform to share technical know-how and resources on labor trafficking with providers across the US.
It is also starting a two-year innovative anti-trafficking project focused on using technology and Artificial Intelligence to prevent and combat human trafficking.
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled Anti-Trafficking coordinator to join an innovative anti-trafficking initiative focused on using technology and Artificial Intelligence to combat human trafficking, including online. The project aims to leverage cutting-edge technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning and GenAI, to identify, and disrupt traffickers’ digital activities, and protect victims of human trafficking.
This position reports to the Protection and Anti-Trafficking Senior Technical Adviser within the Resettlement, Asylum and Integration unit (RAI)’s Anti-Trafficking program and support a new Anti-Trafficking project in partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Foundation. The Anti-Trafficking unit implements programs that focus mainly on preventing human trafficking and on protecting victims of trafficking.
The role involves producing technical content (written, audio, videos, training modules, etc) in a various range of topics on human trafficking in the dedicated IRC Anti-Trafficking website, suggest new innovative content ideas, and contributes to the piloting of tech and AI tools throughout the project, researching online trafficking patterns, and advising on further strategies and funding opportunities to combat human trafficking.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum two years’ experience in direct delivery and monitoring of anti-trafficking programming
- Experience in provision of technical assistance and development of fact sheets, training materials and events
- Experience in program design, content creation monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience providing services to diverse communities is highly desirable.
- Experience and or familiarity with tech and AI an asset
DEMONSTRATED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- English proficiency should be equivalent to that of a native speaker
- Strong understanding of the trends around human trafficking mainly in the US and in Europe and strong interest in learning about new contexts
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with evidence of the ability to productively interact with a wide range and level of staff and organizations
- Strong creative and design skills and ability to conceptualize and visualize abstract ideas to create tangible, user-friendly designs
- Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, problem-solve, effectively manage time and meet deadlines, and proven ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to access and apply current research in support of anti-trafficking efforts
- Demonstrated experience with a range of on-site and distance learning tools, and knowledge of current, effective adult learning technologies and trends
- Demonstrated experience in utilizing webinar platforms such as Zoom and learning portals such as Kaya
