GLASSBORO HIGH SCHOOL IS SEEKING QUALIFIED CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF ANTICIPATED ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL. THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING DUTIES:

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a New Jersey Principal Certificate
REPORTS TO: Principal

Under the direction of the Principal, the Assistant Principal will be responsible for the following:

  • Administering the complete attendance procedure of the school including conferences with pupils and parents and supervising the preparation of the state attendance reports.
  • Directing and coordinating the discipline program of the school, including pupil behavior during all phases of the school program. Preparing recommendations for pupil suspension for approval by Principal or higher authority.
  • Coordinating the physical arrangements for assemblies, plays, concerts, dances, banquets, displays, adult night school, summer school, and other special events.
  • Administering the recording and reporting of pupil progress to parents, the recording of marks in cumulative folders, and the procedures for the promotion and retention of pupils
  • Assuming all duties of the Principal in his or her absence and all other duties as delegated from time to time by the Principal.
  • Directing the daily management of the school as it functions within approved schedules and policies.
  • Assisting the Principal and staff in developing goals for the school.
  • Working with the Principal and staff in continued curriculum development.
  • Working with the Principal and staff in the selection and development of curricular materials and activities to implement the educational program.Initiating, developing, and recommending suggestions for improvement in the aforementioned
