This role offers 37 hours per week and all requests to work flexibly will be considered, allowing for business needs, and reviewed annually. The salary will be pro-rata where part-time hours are undertaken.

JOB DESCRIPTION

To provide a friendly, efficient service to enable patients to access dental care. Arrange appointments and recalls for all entitled personnel ensuring maximum use of the clinicians’ time to meet Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) (Dental) targets for dental health. Offer administrative support for the surgeries, Senior Dental Officer (SDO) and the Practice Manager (PM). Carry out all duties delegated by the SDO/PM.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The main duties of the role include but are no limited to:

  • Maintaining the appointment diary, making appointments (including Hospital appointments where applicable) as requested by Dental Officers (DOs) and the Dental Hygienist. Informing the Clinician concerned should it prove impossible to appoint a patient at a particularly requested time. Booking in all prosthetic work, referring this to the relevant DO and making the appropriate appointment.
  • Initial contact with patients, checking-in patients using the Information Technology (IT) supplied and raising the necessary documentation. Ensuring the reception area is always maintained and tidy.
  • Actioning all recall reports, taskings and nominal roles from DMICP and making the appropriate appointments.
  • Answering telephone, email and face to face enquiries. When requested, contacting patients to remind them of their dental appointments.
