Description Job Description - AOI Operator 2 Reporting structure: Reports to the SMT Supervisor Overall position description: Inspect SMT and Through Hole components on PCB’s for defects using AOI equipment Responsible for the quality of products leaving the AOI area. Essential functions of the job: Software assisted and visually inspecting SMT and Through-hole components for placement, polarity, missing parts, and solder issues Review, report, and document defects such as misaligned parts, soldering problems, missing parts, and wrong polarity Review and document inspection results, logging data, and maintaining quality records Complete applicable forms such as work travelers and trouble sheets Prioritize work orders and keep production priorities on track Quality compliance, validate and ensure adherence to IPC610 standards and following customer specific instructions. Maintain and assist in general upkeep and preventive maintenance actions of equipment. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Strong understanding of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems and procedures Understand, follow, and execute actions from traveler, work instructions, customer requests, and direction from supervisor or engineering Clearly communicate defects verbally and through written records such as trouble sheets, data logs, quality records, ECN/deviations Ability to support multiple product lines and machines as needed Excellent computer skills, and working knowledge of ERP systems, tools, and equipment to support AOI processes Professionally, self-managed, and able to work effectively with a diverse team Required education and experience: High school diploma or 6 months job experience using AOI equipment IPC-610 (latest revision) with in 1 year of new releases X-ray experience a plus A description of the physical demands Sufficient eyesight to identify defects using AOI Equipment Use / monitor AOI Equipment for an 8-hour shift Sit at work station for extended periods Able to lift and carry 25 pounds A description of Work Environment /Safety Requirements: Follow company safety policies and directives Follow ESD requirements, smocks, wrist & shoe straps Environment is a temperature-controlled electronics manufacturing floor VIRTEX is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
