Description:
Job Summary
Markham-based leading and highly successful manufacturer is seeking an AP/AR Clerk to join the accounting department.
Responsibilities and Duties
AR: .
- Saily process and post all incoming payments (CODs, cheques, ACHs, e-transfers)
- Issue Credit/Debit Memos as required
- Reconcile daily receipts with General Ledger
- Generate and distribute monthly statements
- Collection calls on overdue accounts
- Work with Collection Agencies as required
- Process credit applications with credit reference checks
- Manage filing promptly;
- Reconcile accounts receivable monthly with bank statements
- Month-end closing
- Participate in Year-End closing
- Support other accounting team members when required
AP:
- Match invoice with PO receipt, validate prices and quantities
- Reconcile Credit Card statement with supporting documents
- Assign proper GL Codes, enter and post bills daily in the ERP system
- Process employee expense reports and reimbursements;
- Process Bill Disbursements bi-weekly through ACH and Wire transfers
- Monthly Reconciliations of Vendor statements
- Monthly Reconciliation of AP GL accounts, clearing accounts, and Deposit with Vendors
- Track foreign purchase amounts, cost, freight, duty & custom report
- Track Travel Allowance reports
- Manage company petty cash
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 years of field experience
- Good knowledge of accounting fundamentals
- Highly proficient in MS Office programs (EXCEL a must), and CRM/ERP software
- 50 wpm typing skills
- Experience dealing in multi-currencies
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills with strong verbal and written skills in the English language
- Professional Attitude & Etiquette
- College or post-secondary education in Accounting/Bookkeeping ideal
