Visit our website to learn more. Job Summary: The EHS Regional Lead plays a crucial role in guiding our business to success with robust Health, Safety, Environment. Your leadership will be vital in driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across our region. This position is key to building and maintaining a world class compliance baseline and a culture of safety and sustainability, ensuring we meet our legal, financial, and moral obligations. As a leading member of the team, you will develop and deliver a robust EHS strategy with a vision which is clear to the entire organisation. The EHS Lead will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the EHS arrangements across the APAC operation; be proactive and forward-looking in supporting the Group and Global EHSS Frameworks and deliver change management programs, standardization and centralisation of processes, specifically: You will provide day to day visible felt leadership and direction to drive the Environmental, Health, Safety objectives. You will be responsible for aligning the EHS C.A.R.E framework, best practice and process standards into on-site standard work. Working with internal / external technical subject matter experts in EHS, bringing together the legal requirements and the safe delivery of projects. Drive a ‘Just Safety Culture’ supporting fairness, trust, responsibility, learning and building relationships across your team of managers/advisors and the wider organisation. Lead the existing Sustainability strategy to achieve the ONE Planet targets. Provide Departmental Management; day to day leadership, and technical EHS expertise, develop annual plans, manage budgets, and ensure high performance in EHS departments. You will work closely with Group and external support functions, local teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and drive a culture of effective Risk Management. Incorporate risk assessment and control strategies across all areas of responsibility and the wider site-based activities. Health &Safety To deliver risk identification and control strategies across the site, with a primary focus on machines and processes. To coach the investigation of incidents and adverse events with the cluster of sites (Learning Event Process), and to share learnings from incidents across the company and the wider organisation. Improve worker engagement in EHS, identify needs and aspirations and coach the necessary skills and tools. Report on health, safety, and environmental performance at local level following the analysis of data and trends in support of continual improvement in the EHS system. Ensure ISO level Management systems are comprehensive and drive continual improvement. Drive the development of Safe Systems of work, Standard Work, One Point Lessons, Toolbox Talks and Process Standards for all EHS requirements. Support EHS audits and action response, both internally and externally. Lead the engagement in relevant activities regarding internal H&S and/or Environmental Committees. Attend regular meetings and events with both the WMFTS and SPIRAX Group EHS teams. Ensure Emergency response and Crisis Management is well planned, tested and communicated across the site and is underpinned with a strategic and systematic approach. Support the group strategy with the integration of HOP (Human & Organisational Performance). Ensure that the risk and controls for Ergonomic hazards are realised and embedded into the workplace design. Ensure that control measures designed for occupational and chemical health hazards are working as designed and confirmed with a robust occupational health program. Build a Safety Culture roadmap acknowledging the output of our Bronze Safey Climate survey. To be the competent authority on all matters of technical safety i.e. Machine Safety, Fire Engineering. Environment Collaboration Enhance Team collaboration, encourage open communication and mutual support among team members. You will collaborate through a dotted line structure with Group EHS. You will engage with all parts of the business to effectively embed the Company values. You will represent APAC at professional development events, conference and meetings, where appropriate. You will help keep all colleagues engaged through frequent and various communication. Respect Leading the environmental function, being directly accountable for the success of the environmental plans and initiatives. You will provide exceptional EHS expertise to managers and frontline workers. You will drive excellence in all aspects of Environment, building on the SI Objectives and working closely with the central Energy Team. You will develop, share and implement best practice processes and principles, through the wider internal global EHS community and external network. You understand that the effective implementation our Strategy is fundamental to the future success of WMFTS and always strive for EHS excellence and reduced harm. Integrity You will ensure the integrity and appropriateness of all EHS deliverables and reporting. Skills/Experience: Qualified to level 6 with a specific H&S qualification i.e. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. A member of IOSH with a minimum of Graduate level membership and with a Blueprint CPD profile. Advantageous – Machine safety or engineering background Experience of or within a challenging, complex stakeholder landscape Self-managing and highly motivated, with strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in multiple teams. Be organised, methodical, resilient and approachable with strong communication & influencing skills. Ability to engage others effectively and drive change across all levels, finding pragmatic solutions. Can effectively and appropriately challenge others and display servant leadership.
