Who we are looking for:
We have an exciting opportunity for a newly created role as APAC ETF Delivery & Oversight, to take on global responsibility of a team. As a leader within the ETF Capital Markets & Markets Intelligence team, this individual will work closely with key stakeholders within Chief Business Office and the COO organization to ensure all aspects related to ETF operations and trading are able to be carried out at all times, supporting the Primary and Secondary market processes. Reporting into the Global Head of ETF Capital Markets and Markets Intelligence, the role will have a broad remit and scope across all aspects of ETF Delivery and Oversight and will also act a key point person, and senior escalation.
We are looking for candidates with in depth knowledge of exchange traded funds, and an advanced understanding of the ETF trading infrastructure and eco system of ETF products, with experience of working closely with Capital Markets, Product, ETF Operations and a Distribution business. The ability to manage high profile ETF initiatives and interact effectively with colleagues at all levels and different timezones across the global business is essential.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate ETF service delivery and day-to-day infrastructure effectiveness for the APAC ETF products, across various operational teams, partners and service providers
  • Briefing and escalation to Head of ETF Delivery & Oversight as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain operational procedures, workflows, metrics and quality controls to ensure consistent standards for the ETF operating platform and funds
  • Act as a point of contact for Capital Markets and other internal partners responsible for interacting with the primary market
  • Provide oversight and collaborate with third party service providers, tracking performance and reporting metrics against established service levels
  • Be a dedicated and knowledgeable resource for Product, Sales, Distribution, Capital Markets and other internal parties with operating platform related inquiries and requests for ETFs
  • Maintain and improve the existing operating platform infrastructure, leading key operating platform improvement projects through the development and ownership of detailed project plans
  • Own operating platform incident or error communication and resolution workflow; maintain excellent and timely communication among all involved parties and ensure remediation steps are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure full issue resolution and completion of all required documentation, working across key teams and constituents (Capital Markets, Business Rick and Controls, Product, Investments, Funds Management, Compliance, etc.)
  • Demonstrate understanding of the impact of problems across the organization and facilitate collaborative solutions
  • Effectively manage stakeholder relationships whilst maintaining a strong risk ethos
  • Assist appropriately with any required ETF projects as an SME or for new product considerations.
  • Identifying areas of improvement specifically as they relate to data quality and integration including but not limited to implementing additional controls and process

Education & Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • 7+ years’ experience of ETF or funds product management / operations / risk
  • Strong process orientation and ability to use operations and technology to respond appropriately and support a dynamic ETF platform
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships within SSGA and with external partners to seek solutions quickly and effectively and resolve operating incidents
  • Ability to execute and act as SME in projects within the region, where required sometimes take ownership of projects.
  • Ability to work closely with stakeholders across the region
  • Detail oriented with ability to focus and multi-task in fast-paced work environment
  • A self-starter who approaches work enthusiastically and demonstrates initiative
  • Experience of working in cross regional, cross functional matrix structures

The role is focused on the ETF business and could be based in either Syndey, Hong Kong or Singapore
