Description
About Champion The Champion Companies is a local Central Ohio company with a passion for our people and giving back to the community. We own and operate 22 apartment communities with nearly 5,000 Class A apartment homes. Our team is setting the standard for apartment living in Central Ohio. When you need an apartment in and around Columbus, we want to be the obvious choice.  Voted a Best Place to Work in Central Ohio for 10 years and counting by our team members, Champion is proud of the culture we’ve created. From fun team outings and events, to volunteer opportunities during company time, to frequent check-ins about work-life happiness, we care for the whole person, not just who you are as an employee. What is a Maintenance Technician? Our Maintenance Technicians have three main responsibilities: Upkeep of the property grounds, completing work orders in a timely manner, and turning apartments to ensure they’re ready for the next resident. As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll work alongside other professionals as a collaborative team all working toward the same goal: to deliver the best living experience ever.  Our Maintenance Technicians are Champion’s front line of customer service. You’ll work each day to create a sense of community through ensuring resident satisfaction and the smooth and efficient operations of the property at which you work. Day-to-day experiences vary and there’s always a new and interesting experience to be part of. Maintenance Technicians at Champion work Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, and Emergency on-call is required approximately 4 weeks per year. These structured hours are in place to ensure our team members have ample time to live life outside of work.  Growth Opportunities Growth at Champion means opportunities to learn and to take on new challenges and experiences. This may include taking on a site with more units, running a renovation project, working at a new development, and available training and certifications. When you choose to build your career at Champion, you’ll find that leadership invests in your continual professional development. Employee Benefits 3 weeks paid time off and 6 paid holidays Company-paid health insurance after 90 days 401(k) retirement savings with company match Structured hours with two consecutive days off per week Ideal Candidates and Champion’s Human Hiring Approach Our people are our biggest differentiator. We believe in hiring the right person, then provide extensive training so that you learn all sides of our business. For this reason, we do not require any previous maintenance experience. During the interview process, you can expect for us to try to get a sense of who you are as a person. The right person for this position is motivated by working with a team to reach goals. Finds joy in building relationships and being in service to others. And a bonus if they are passionate about food and bev because we love lunches, appetizers, and happy hour.  If this journey sounds like one you’d like to be a part of, we encourage you to apply. We look forward to meeting you!
