McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a APEX Technology Support Engineer (Machine Control Technician).
The Technology Support Engineer is responsible for the after-sale performance and technical support of all SmartGrade™ and integrated grade control equipped machines.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Technology, Marketing discipline, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Proven track record using Topcon & Trimble Machine Control in construction projects.
  • Experience in construction layout utilizing GNSS or Robotic Total Stations, including the interpretation of site blueprints and the implementation of construction workflows.
  • Familiarity with Topcon, Trimble, and/or Lecia technologies
  • Passion for technology and heavy equipment, with a drive to learn and stay current on industry advancements.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively train individuals and small groups on technical concepts and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory (Up to 75%) AOR in Louisville KY, Owensboro KY, or Evansville IN.

Responsibilities
  • Support construction sites for automated machine control and construction layout
  • Support, diagnose and repair SmartGradeTM and related grade control issues.
  • Communicate effectively with John Deere, General Manager and Territory Managers in your respective area to promote, demo train and sell SmartGradeTM machines.
  • Complete & maintain all OEM and government certifications expected or required.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
