APFC 2026 Summer Finance Internship Applications due by December 31, 2025 The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC), recognized as a world-class organization and consistently ranked as one of the best places to work by Pensions & Investments magazine, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant for Public Markets, this internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in investment accounting and learn from professionals in the field. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in accounting or finance who want to develop practical skills and gain insight into managing a globally diversified investment portfolio. Eligibility Requirements: Must be an Alaska resident attending school in any state or enrolled at a post-secondary institution in Alaska. Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance. Recent graduates earning a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply if graduation occurred within nine months of the application close date. Technical Skills: Proficiency with the Microsoft Windows platform, including Excel and Word. Candidates should demonstrate an aptitude for learning new software programs, superb analytical, organizational and communication skills. Internship Description: The intern job duties involve a variety of tasks and will provide the intern with an introduction to the basic principles of investment accounting. Work will involve performing hands-on accounting for a variety of investment asset classes including fixed income securities, publicly- traded stocks, real estate and other alternative investments. The intern will work with a variety of individuals and groups both internal and external to APFC, including independent auditors and asset managers. Duties will include analysis of specific accounts and account groups, along with preparation of summary schedules necessary for the annual year-end audit of the Alaska Permanent Fund. The intern will also perform other duties as assigned and will receive exposure to all APFC departments to gain an overall perspective of corporate functions. Intern expectations: Gain an understanding of accounting for investments. Experience working with various accounting and investment software systems. Gain an understanding of investment operations, analysis, and research Assist Finance Department with daily accounting functions. Explore the accounting and investment professions through staff interviews. Experience and assist with annual financial statement audit. Assist with special projects. Enhance basic office skills. Make a final presentation to the APFC staff. Internship Details: Pay: $25.00 per hour undergraduate level / $27.00 per hour graduate level. Duration: 12-13 weeks with flexible start and end dates to accommodate academic schedules. Location: APFC Headquarters located in Juneau, Alaska. Travel: One round-trip airfare to Juneau provided by APFC. Housing: Interns are responsible for securing their own accommodations. Housing can be discussed with APFC Human Resources to connect students with resources if needed.
