Description
The APG Maintenance Lead works full-time at the Arizona Proving Ground (APG) in Wittmann, Arizona (Department 5100T621/1000018394). The Maintenance Lead is responsible for the Maintenance operation of the roughly 1,500-acre facility dedicated to car and truck performance and product development testing. The job is accomplished thru working with a team of purchase service employees, APG hired service providers and, if applicable, Ford Land/CBRE hired service providers to make sure all facilities; like tracks, buildings and equipment, are clean and available, operating correctly and meet the expectations and requirements of all our internal and external customers. Funding for the work comes from APG's maintenance budget and capital funding which requires managing budgets and writing appropriation requests. The Maintenance Lead will be expected to work with local employees (Ford personnel, as well as non-Ford personnel and brokering customers) and communicate with testing, engineering, and management teams. The Mainteance Lead will be part of the Ford Management Team at APG. Supervise maintenance, janitorial, groundskeeping staff and contractors. Manage daily operations. Ensure the equipment, tracks and buildings operate smoothly. Conduct regular inspections to identify areas needing maintenance or repair. Create and manage contracts with vendors and supervise and hire maintenance staff. Develop and maintain a budget. Manage inventories. Plan for emergencies, business continuity, and improvements. Conduct and document facility and equipment inspections. Oversee any building projects or renovations. Forecast future real estate and equipment needs. Oversee and maintain building systems like HCAC, water and electricity. Ensure the facility meets all health, safety, and building codes. Supports achievement of PD business plan objectives and targets. Tracks progress and spending on facilities & maintenance capital and expense projects to ensure action items are completed on time and within budget. Effectively uses standard procedures and best practices to ensure facility maintenance compliance and achieve business plan objectives and targets. Maintains knowledge of applicable national, regional, and local facility requirements. Author/maintain local processes and work instructions to support the site quality system. Support and assist the APG Safety Engineer when maintenance actions, processes etc. may affect the health & safety of the personnel and visitors at the site. Bachelor of Science (BS) in electrical/mechanical engineering or construction management or equivalent (preferred). Military service (preferred). 5+ years of experience from proving ground maintenance operation. Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.) Proficient in utilizing MAXIMO/ELMS. Solid organizational skills, including proven ability to multi-task. Ability to work independently with excellent problem solving skills. Solid verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to learn and develop. Strong FORD+ behavior traits. Excellent team player, with a positive attitude and outstanding interpersonal skills. Ability to rapidly adjust to changing requirements. Flexible work schedule . Ability to obtain Ford Tier 2 Driver Certification. Established and active employee resource groups
