JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join the DevOps Team. The role is primarily focused on API development, with additional responsibility for Jira documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong Java and API development expertise, along with experience in CI/CD, cloud-native environments, and Agile methodologies.

• API Development: 85%
• Jira Documentation Work: 15%

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong proficiency in Java and RESTful Service APIs.
• RDBMS experience with relational database design and queries.
• Hands-on experience with Maven, Jenkins, Tekton, CI/CD, JBoss.
• Red Hat / OpenShift / 3Scale experience.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Bitbucket (Git) for version control.
• Jira and Confluence for Agile project tracking and documentation.
• Knowledge of software development processes, Agile practices, and service-oriented environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under strict timelines.
• Team player with experience working in diverse, distributed teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful API services.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, business analysts, and scrum masters in an Agile environment.
• Participate in daily standups and remote meetings, providing confident input.
• Write and maintain technical documentation using Jira and Confluence.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Tekton, and Maven.
• Manage version control with Bitbucket (Git).
• Work with Red Hat, OpenShift, and 3Scale for API management.
• Contribute to Kubernetes-based deployments and containerized environments.
• Ensure API security, performance, and scalability.
• Engage in problem-solving and innovation, providing unique solutions to complex challenges.
• Balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
