Working Pattern: Permanent Full time with Flexible working options available Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled API Integration Engineer to join our technology team. This hybrid role is pivotal in ensuring seamless, secure, and scalable integration across internal platforms, external suppliers, and customer-facing services. You will also lead the development of automated data pipelines that enhance operational efficiency and unlock actionable insights. This position is central to our telecom ecosystem, with a strong focus on Open APIs, OSS/BSS systems, and enterprise-grade automation. You’ll collaborate across architecture, DevOps, and data teams to deliver resilient, compliant, and high-performing solutions that align with NEOS Networks’ strategic vision. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain API integrations for telecom OSS/BSS systems, Openreach APIs, supplier platforms, and enterprise applications. Develop and automate ETL/ELT data pipelines to improve data flow, quality, and consistency across the organisation. Implement secure communication protocols including OAuth 2.0, mTLS, IP whitelisting, and ensure compliance with GDPR, TSA, and ISO27001. Build and manage webhook endpoints for asynchronous callbacks and participate in BT Openreach Conformance Testing. Manage API version upgrades and partner change notifications. Apply robust fault handling, retry logic, and back-off strategies for resilient API operations. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins for API and data workflow deployments. Monitor and troubleshoot integrations using ELK, Grafana, CloudWatch, and other observability tools. Document integration designs, data workflows, and support processes for operational continuity and audit readiness. Collaborate with architects, analysts, developers, and vendors to deliver solutions aligned with business goals. Strategic & Cross-Functional Engagement Work closely with the Chief Enterprise & Security Officer and enterprise architects to co-develop a five-year, API-first roadmap for intelligent, context-aware systems. Provide technical leadership and guidance on modern API technologies and architectures that support NEOS Networks’ strategic direction. Continuously evaluate market trends to identify complementary technology partners and strengthen infrastructure. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in API integration engineering, preferably within telecom environments. Hands-on experience with Openreach APIs or similar B2B telecom integrations. Strong understanding of REST, SOAP, and event-driven architectures. Proficiency in XML, JSON, schema validation (WSDL, XSD), and scripting (Python/SQL). Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS) and event-driven platforms (Amazon EventBridge). Skilled in cloud environments (AWS, Azure), container orchestration, and middleware platforms (API Gateway, Informatica, Airflow, Snowflake). Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains (GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins). Deep understanding of secure API/data practices and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, TSA, ISO27001). Desirable Experience Telecoms background with exposure to OSS/BSS integration. Familiarity with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) or similar platforms. Experience supporting AI/ML pipelines and automation in data-driven environments.
