About the Role: We are seeking ahighly skilled and experienced Apigee Architect to leadthe API management and integration initiatives within our organization. Theideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, andimplementing API solutions using Google Apigee, ensuring scalability,security, and high performance. This role requires collaboration withcross-functional teams to build robust API solutions that drive businesssuccess.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in API architecture, design, and development.
  • Strong expertise in Apigee Edge, including hybrid and cloud deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with API security models, including OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, and OpenID Connect.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with API versioning, throttling, rate-limiting, caching, and logging.
  • Knowledge of API monetization models and developer portal implementation.
  • Expertise in Cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders, business users, and development teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Apigee certification (Apigee API Engineer, Apigee Certified Professional) is a plus.
  • Experience in integrating Apigee with BigQuery, Firebase, and other Google Cloud services.
  • Understanding of GraphQL and Event-Driven Architectures.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-based API analytics and monitoring.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement API management solutions using Google Apigee Edge.
  • Architect scalable and secure API ecosystems aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Define and implement API governance policies, best practices, and security models.
  • Develop and enforce API security standards, including OAuth, JWT, API Keys, and TLS.
  • Optimize API performance, caching strategies, and traffic management.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure API design follows RESTful principles and industry standards.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and hands-on guidance for API development.
  • Integrate Apigee with backend services, cloud environments, and third-party platforms.
  • Monitor API health and performance, implementing proactive solutions for scalability.
  • Stay updated with the latest API management trends, Apigee updates, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure seamless CI/CD pipelines for API deployment and testing.
