Cherish are seeking a person to act as an Appointee. In this role you will play a crucial part in managing the financial affairs of vulnerable individuals who are unable to do so for themselves. This can be due to various reasons such as mental health issues, cognitive impairments, or other incapacities.
As an appointee you will support, and safeguard Cherish clients with their financial affairs.
Duties will include:
Experience:
Record Keeping: Appointees are required to maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions and decisions made on behalf of the individual. These records provide transparency and accountability.
Regular Reporting: Appointees often need to provide regular reports to relevant authorities, such as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in the UK. These reports demonstrate that the individual’s finances are being managed appropriately.
The appointee plays a critical role in managing the financial well-being of individuals who may not have the capacity to handle their finances independently.
Your responsibilities will encompass a range of financial tasks, from benefit claims and bill payments to protection against financial exploitation and decision-making in the individual’s best interests.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. On call is required 1 week out of 4 and will be an additional payment.
Experience working as a financial appointee with an understanding of universal credit would be highly preferred.
