WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?

Are you a passionate and creative designer looking to make an impact in the world of outdoor apparel? Berghaus, part of Pentland Brands, is seeking a Designer – Apparel to join our team. You will support the Senior Designer in conceptualising, developing, and executing innovative and high-quality performance apparel, ensuring all timelines are met and cross-functional communication is seamless.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?

As a Designer – Apparel, you will:

• Deliver consumer-led global designs that align with the brand DNA and seasonal creative direction, under guidance from the Head of Design and Senior Designer.
• Develop and execute style and performance-driven apparel designs, ensuring alignment with brand identity, product briefs, and market trends.
• Contribute to seasonal creative direction, including trend research, colour palettes, fabric innovation, and mood boards.
• Incorporate consumer insights and wear-testing feedback into the design process to ensure we lead with strong, purposeful stories in everything we do
• Push boundaries and be bold in what is possible in the apparel outdoor space
• Love working in teams and collaborating with your design peers
• Work closely with key cross-functional partners, including Marketing, Merchandising, Product Development, and Innovation teams.

WHAT DO I BRING TO THE ROLE?

To stand out in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

• Strong conceptualisation and ideation abilities for consumer-led designs.
• Curiosity, boldness and a fascination for learning and growing
• Excellent Adobe Creative Cloud skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), some knowledge of 3D design
• Passion for apparel design and development, particularly in outdoor or performance wear.
• Knowledge of fabric technologies, garment construction, fit, and sustainability practices.
• Understanding of trend forecasting, colour palettes, and functional design elements.
• Ability to create detailed tech packs and have an understanding of PLM systems
• Be able to clearly articulate your ideas visually, verbally and in presentations
