Are you interested in learning what makes the Apple Watch tick? Apple is seeking an enthusiastic systems power engineer for the Watch System EE team! You will integrate custom power circuits into the Apple Watch, driving the electrical design of the product loved and used worldwide! The candidate must have experience collaborating with many different cross-functional teams and have experience designing and integrating power delivery circuits for shipping hardware. DESCRIPTION This role involves integrating custom power management ICs into a complex and tightly constrained system, ensuring seamless and efficient power delivery between the PMU, battery, wireless charging subsystem, and other modules. You will be responsible for PMU system design, PMU configuration, defining the PDN including component selection and layout, and supporting power-related factory test, validation, and issue triage. You will work closely with the PMU, battery, and wireless charging teams, silicon and Watch architects, IC designers, and Watch EEs to integrate and optimize these critical power technologies into the Watch. Your work will directly impact the design and performance of our products! MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BS in EE or CE 5+ years prior experience shipping hardware on a system or module team with specific focus on power IC or system design Strong analog fundamentals with expertise in design, operation, and optimization of switching supplies, LDOs, and PDNs Hands-on experience working with power ICs, along with strong familiarity with test and measurement procedures with lab bench equipment for power analysis (e.g., DMMs, power analyzers, current probes) Excellent documentation and communication skills, ability to work independently, and demonstrated ability to innovate PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MS or Ph.D in EE or CE Deep knowledge of EE fundamentals extending to battery and wireless charging technologies Experience with modeling/simulation or MATLAB Experience with data analysis/visualization tools (Tableau, JMP, etc.)
