This role wil be based at our Canada facility. The Appliance Technician (Apprentice) will be responsible for delivering customer service excellence in the homes of our customers, including performing technical diagnosis, and installation and repair of all kitchen and laundry appliances including but not limited to washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, microwave ovens and garbage disposals. Your responsibilities will include Perform technical diagnosis and repair of appliances, including connections for water, gas, and hydro on certain installation dispatches Look up parts, provide customers estimate of repair and order parts Advise customers on proper use and care of the appliance and answer questions that may arise Use Business Management Software to manage and reschedule service calls Complete rework efforts as required Complete service reports for inspected, completed and scrapped units. Demonstrate and practice customer service values when in customer home Prepare products for proper disposal, including recovering refrigerants, draining oils from compressors and washing machine gear cases Provide field support as needed for assist repairs Provide field and in-house technicians with parts from returned products when requested Help and execute product reworks for all product categories Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety practices Demonstrate proper code of conduct and business ethics Plan and prepare for the daily job, identifying work order related information, maintenance of tools and equipment Minimum requirements College diploma in the Appliance Service Technician Program or, in lieu of a diploma an Appliance Service Technician Program Certificate Preferred skills and experiences Possess, or be willing to obtain, Refrigeration and Gas Fitter licenses Fluent in English (written and spoken) Proficient with technology Adaptable to change, willing to relocate across the country based on needs Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace Connect with us and learn more about Whirlpool Corporation See what it's like to work at Whirlpool by visiting Whirlpool Careers.
