JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Application Analyst provides division support for non-clinical IT applications. This includes, but is not limited to the areas of system design configuration, testing, standardization, implementation, ongoing user support/training, maintenance, system enhancements, problem analysis and resolution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Facility operations and process understanding
  • Knowledge and ability to use office support tools available at the desktop (word processing, email, presentation software, spreadsheets)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. HCA-IT&S, Inc.
  • 1-3 years experience
  • Strong understanding of Service Desk (Help Desk), application support, Intranet development, and customer service principles
  • A clear understanding of computer systems and corresponding support requirements
  • Demonstrated strong leadership abilities
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills required Preferred:
  • Strong personal drive and ability to see projects through to execution in a matrixed, corporate environment is required
  • Experience with special projects and flexibility to support many different non-clinical applications
  • Minimum of two years of hospital information system installation/maintenance experience specializing in the support of non-clinical application systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications

Responsibilities
  • Functions as division SME for the non-clinical IT applications utilized as standard in the division
  • Promotes and coordinates standardization of development, maintenance and support for non-clinical applications
  • Conducts problem analysis and provides timely and accurate resolution of problems with non-clinical applications
  • Documents and monitors project plans, change requests and non-clinical system problems and communicate resolutions
  • Ensures appropriate testing of enhancements is completed prior to installation for all non-clinical application changes in production environment
  • Provides training and support as required to IS support staff, hospital users, and other division users
  • Monitors utilization of the non-clinical applications in our hospitals. Coordinates and manages division projects related to standardization of process and sharing of best practices with these applications
  • Analyzes and determines possible solutions for problems encountered by users as well as assessing future needs
  • Conducts regular meetings with the hospital management committees and other committees to develop and share best practices, conducts educational workshops and overall enhances the utilization and understanding of the applications
  • Provides input to base division policies and procedures, training, and best practices
  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statements
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality with regard to all aspects of patient care and employee information
