POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Transport Systems, Information Technology, the individual in this position will reside at one of our main hubs within Mississauga and will play a key role in supporting Canada Cartage’s applications and technology. The portfolio encompasses all application systems that support the various transportation businesses. The applications are a mix of 3rd party systems with some customizations and internally built applications.
The individual will administer the portfolio of transportation applications and support day-to-day issues in a timely manner. This is a key role in ensuring the ongoing smooth operation of the business and becomes the natural go-to person for both resources within the technical team and the business community. They will act as a Subject Matter Expert for internal initiatives relating to these applications and participate in projects involving the terminals.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide Tier 2/3 Application Support by logging, prioritizing, and troubleshooting incidents via the ticketing system, collaborating with internal teams, and performing root cause analysis to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee Application Health & Maintenance, coordinating with Infrastructure, Security, and vendor teams to ensure system updates, optimal performance, and compliance with IT standards.
  • Contribute to Project Delivery by defining scope, gathering requirements, analyzing processes, managing project timelines, and adapting to changes in deliverables or priorities.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on supported applications, staying current on product roadmaps, configuring systems, and leading system testing, training, and SOP development.
  • Support Business Process Optimization through process mapping, documentation, system configuration, and mentoring super users and L1 staff to ensure consistent application usage.
  • Travel as Needed to provide on-site support and user training at terminal locations across Canada during key project phases or go-lives.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships with business users, leadership, and vendors, communicating effectively across audiences and acting as a key liaison to drive adoption and resolve issues.
