We now have a new requirement and are looking for a consultant colleague with the qualifications listed below. The position is part of our consulting business, which means you will be employed by us and work either with clients or on internal projects and assignments.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Application Architecture Design:

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing application architectures for credit risk management systems.
• Define application workflows for credit risk assessment, credit scoring, portfolio monitoring, and risk reporting.
• Incorporate big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) into application designs to handle large-scale data ingestion, processing, and storage.

1. Technology Implementation:

• Lead the development and integration of applications on big data platforms (Cloudera).
• Oversee ETL processes to manage credit risk data ingestion, transformation, and analysis from multiple sources.

1. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with credit risk analysts, and business stakeholders to define system requirements and ensure solutions meet business objectives.
• Work closely with data architects, developers and infrastructure teams to implement and optimize solutions.

1. Performance Optimization:

• Optimize applications for low-latency, high-throughput processing of credit risk data.
• Conduct regular performance tuning of systems and applications, ensuring scalability for future data growth.

1. Data Governance and Security:

• Ensure that solutions adhere to data governance and security protocols, including data masking, encryption, and access controls.
• Establish processes for auditing and tracking sensitive credit risk data.

1. Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on advancements in big data technologies, credit risk methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Propose enhancements to existing systems and recommend new tools or frameworks to improve capabilities.

YOUR PROFILE (MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS)

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

• Extensive experience in application architecture and system design, particularly in the financial domain.
• Proven track record in designing solutions for credit risk management and big data platforms.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala).
• Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Scala, Python).
• Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks & orchestration tool (e.g., Airflow).
• Proficiency in database systems (SQL) and ETL frameworks.

Domain Knowledge:

• Good overview of credit risk models, regulatory requirements, and financial risk metrics.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Leadership capabilities to guide teams and ensure project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with financial regulations like Basel & IFRS 9.
