($37,000 - $40,000 annualized) plus full benefit package Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8AM – 4PM with the flexibility for after hours and weekends as needed ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: Founded in 1981, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian ministry whose purpose is to improve communities through sustainable partnerships. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Application Coordinator supports Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s (PHFH) mission by determining if applicants meet Program guidelines and criteria. This experienced and highly motivated individual is an integral part of assisting with the application processes for prospective homebuyers. The Application Coordinator communicates with applicants daily and is an integral part of screening applications and determining various program eligibility. The candidate for this position is expected to have a strong customer service background. The person filling this role will be working independently but will collaborate frequently with homebuyers, the Programs teams, and other PHFH staff. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Commits to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope. Efficiently determines if applicant meets program eligibility criteria to include income, credit, background, etc. Efficiently reviews applications to verify all information and documentation is gathered in a timely manner. Professional and politely handles a large volume of customer calls and emails. Accurately scans and saves completed, approved files. Crossed trained to assist in processing new applications. Assists with facilitating group and individual presentations for program workshops. Meets regularly with HUD Housing Counseling Clients and follows all HUD Housing Counseling Program Guidelines and Expectations. Completes other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization. Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Excellent customer service skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organization and planning skills Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent computer skills with MS Office Suite and databases Detail oriented Ability to become a HUD certified housing counselor within 6 months of accepting position. Ability to become and maintain Qualified Loan Originator (QLO) certification immediately upon hire. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE: Associates degree preferred. Two or more years of professional experience, preferably in customer service. Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking a plus) Group facilitation experience highly desired. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is primarily performed in an office setting and may require sitting for long periods of time. This position requires the ability to conduct occasional workshops. This position requires frequent communication with home buyers. On occasion, this position requires working offsite and/or performing other tasks requiring repetitive lifting of up to 25 lbs. This position requires a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier. This position also requires additional pre-employment screenings including a personal credit check. This is an hourly position with full benefits. The anticipated work schedule follows general ‘business hours’ but is flexible to meet after hour and weekend demand, with no fewer than 40 hours per week expected.
