Description

Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking an Application Database Administrator to work for our company.

SUMMARY:

  • Client Agency is Defense Logistics Agency.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • Will be responsible for the enhancement of configuration and providing post-production support for our Oracle EBS R12.2.x ERP project.
  • Will be involved in all activities related to the administration of database schemas and their objects. This includes:
  • Enhancing and supporting the configuration of Oracle EBS databases.
  • Working with infrastructure database administrators to designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining the Oracle database infrastructure in a client/server environment, data center, and Cloud environment.
  • Utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and associated tools to manage the database environment including disaster recovery.
  • Providing comprehensive post-production support for Oracle EBS database environments, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Administering database schemas and their associated objects.
  • Projecting long-range requirements for database schema administration and design in collaboration with Infrastructure DBAs.
  • Designing, creating, and maintaining database schemas within a client/server environment, adhering to best practices.
  • Conducting rigorous quality control and auditing of database schemas to ensure data accuracy, appropriate data use, and proper permissions.
  • Advising users on access protocols for various client/server databases (e.g., SQL Net).
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex database schema objects, considering user requirements, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
  • Working with database administrators for database optimization efforts, upgrading, updating, patching, and other maintenance efforts.
  • Supporting query optimization and other optimization techniques.
  • Applying comprehensive knowledge of database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and potentially PL/SQL for specific UI elements, as well as Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX.
  • Performing database programming tasks and providing support for systems design initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • Must have 5+ years of progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access.
  • Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience and expertise in Database Schema design, administration and management.
  • Must have experience working on various operating systems such as UNIX/Linux and Windows Server, and be proficient in programming languages such as Shell scripting, Python, Java, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
  • Experience being responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer database in a large organization for at least two projects.
  • Previous experience with ERP or large-scale government systems with at least two projects involving database operations and security.
  • Experience with performance tuning, system patching, and cloud/infrastructure integration.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex database environments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
