OVERVIEW:

Betis Group is seeking a skilled Application Developer to support our USAB IT infrastructure initiative, focused on delivering secure, accessible web-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in web application development, e-commerce, project coordination, and compliance with federal accessibility standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5+ years as a mid- to senior-level Application Developer.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, SQL/MySQL).
  • Extensive experience with e-commerce applications, GitHub workflows, and UX design principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of Section 508 compliance standards and proper configuration management practices.

ABOUT USAB:

The United States Access Board (USAB) is an independent federal agency focused on ensuring accessibility to federally funded facilities, transit vehicles, telecommunications equipment, and electronic/information technology. USAB develops and enforces accessibility guidelines under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 255 of the Communications Act. It provides technical assistance, training, and authoritative guidelines related to accessible design.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must have U.S. citizenship or appropriate eligibility to work on federal contracts.
  • Positions involve potential on-call support or availability beyond standard hours, as directed by USAB.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, design, and maintain web applications, applying modern web workflows and methodologies.
  • Utilize programming languages including HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, SQL/MySQL, and tools such as GitHub.
  • Coordinate application development projects, from requirement gathering through unit testing, QA, and production implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to UX design principles, focusing on delivering accessible user experiences.
  • Serve as an expert for Section 508 compliance requirements, producing compliant web and documentation artifacts.
  • Apply rigorous configuration management and code management techniques throughout development lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ACROSS ROLES:

  • Regular attendance and participation in meetings, teleconferences, and working groups
  • Proactive communication, collaboration, and reporting to government and contractor leadership
  • Strict adherence to federal compliance standards, including FISMA, NIST guidelines, and Section 508 compliance
  • Maintenance of documentation, configuration management standards, and accurate hardware/software inventory

Successful candidates for all roles will possess:

  • Strong experience working within federally regulated environments, familiar with government contracting best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage or contribute effectively to complex IT projects within defined compliance and security frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication, documentation, and organizational skills, with a proven track record of responsiveness to federal stakeholders.
