The primary responsibility of this role is to participate in the development of software to support our day-to-day operations in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role will work closely with IT peers and our business units’ staff in a Team and project-driven environment.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of software engineering in an MS SQL environment, using Microsoft development tools, preferably in a 3PL environment for Warehouse Management System.
  • Proficiency in SQL, DDL (Data Definition Language), DML (Data Manipulation Language), T-SQL (Transact-SQL), PL SQL, SSMS, Power BI, and Python.
  • Experienced at writing (in a SQL context) Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Functions.
  • Experience in defining the right indexes and doing SQL database performance tuning.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, Crystal Reports, and analytics.
  • Knowledge of Data Structure, Object Oriented Programming, and VBA scripting.
  • Experience in Warehouse Management System, Infios High Jump will be an asset.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, business knowledge and an understanding of transportation in a 3PL environment.
  • Experience with SQL Server development, including database design, SSIS and SSRS.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional groups.
  • Experience with the full project lifecycle from conception to implementation and support.
  • Prior use of data modelling techniques to analyze and specify data usages, defining both logical views and physical data structures.
  • Able to work with complex data systems and perform detailed analysis.
  • Ability to understand and explain procedures in writing or verbally.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels within the organization, and with trading partners.
  • Flexible, adapting to changing dynamics and problem-solving approaches.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain warehouse management applications using both native tools and open frameworks like SQL database tables as required.
  • Integration of SSMS with Power BI, and work with Python, including file handling and scripting.
  • Write detailed SQL scripts for sourcing data and integration into various system databases.
  • Provide support and troubleshoot system issues in legacy systems.
  • Liaise with users, vendors and server administrators on SQL Server/Other Database-related issues.
  • Participate in a walk-through of deliverables to identify potential problems.
  • Create unit tests, integration tests, and UAT test plans to certify the data quality for data repository upgrades, new data feeds, and application integrations.
  • Coordinate testing activities and support end-user testing.
  • Document policies, procedures, work processes and technical documentation.

Systems Integration and EDI/API Coordination

  • Map customer files to corporate databases through the EDI mapping program
  • Analyze interface data maps required between customers, trading partners and Remco systems, and modify or develop maps as needed.
  • Test maps and integration procedures are required to automate the integration.
  • Coordinate testing activities with trading partner IT representatives and support integration testing.
  • Implement data maps and procedures into production.
  • Document policies, procedures, work processes and technical documentation.
  • Monitor integration to ensure ongoing operational consistency and trading partner satisfaction.
  • Any other related duties as assigned.
