Description **REVIEWING LOCAL (FL-BASED) CANDIDATES ONLY** SUMMARY: Plasma-Therm Application Process Engineers are responsible for performing standard Customer sample process demonstrations resulting from qualified sales opportunities. Where non-standard process requirements exist, assist in developing / improving processes towards achieving specific Customer requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs process set-up and demonstration runs on Customer samples to illustrate standard capabilities of Plasma-Therm Etch and Deposition equipment Conducts gap analysis between standard Plasma-Therm equipment performance and Customer specified requirements Designs, performs and analyzes process modifications aimed at meeting Customer specifications Prepares technical reports for the Customer detailing the results of laboratory sampling Demonstrates equipment / process capability during Internal Factory Acceptance testing (IAT) Travels (up to 60%) to the Customer site to achieve Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) requirements Assists in new product development activities for Etch and Deposition Assists in technical sales support for process performance Performs other duties as assigned It is every employee’s responsibility to be aware of the applicable Safety & Health, Quality and Environmental Process of the Company SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Sciences, Physics or Chemistry AND 6 months to two years of experience with semiconductor processing Plasma Enhanced Deposition and Etch processing a plus Must possess a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, major credit card (for business travel), and passport SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally, and externally with customers, vendors, and the general public regarding equipment, processes, and applications Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to travel as needed in support of Customer related process issues WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing laboratory, and support areas such as production, test, and stockroom. The incumbent is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, touch, see, and hear. The incumbent may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions. Must be able to work on production floor, laboratory in the field or at customer site without physical impediments. Vision correctable to 20/20 and ability to hear with corrective devices.
