Job Description The Senior Application Production Support (APS) Engineer is responsible for ensuring the operational availability, stability, and performance of applications within their scope. This role provides both technical and functional production support, ensuring service quality, incident resolution, and business continuity. The APS Engineer acts as a key interface between Business and IT teams, contributing to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and resilient production environments. Production Support & Operations Provide technical and functional support to end users and business teams. Ensure day-to-day application availability and production stability. Monitor and control the proper execution of production processes, including: Batch jobs Data flows File transfers and integrations Incident & Problem Management Manage production incidents end-to-end: Service restoration Stakeholder communication Technical coordination Post-Incident Reviews (PIR) Perform root cause analysis and drive preventive actions. Contribute to service reliability, resilience, and operational risk reduction. Release & Change Support Support application releases, deployments, and transitions to production. Act as a production expert and trusted partner for IT Operations teams. Ensure production readiness and adherence to operational standards. Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement Contribute to production dashboards, KPIs, and operational reporting. Support continuous improvement initiatives across production support processes. Proactively identify optimization opportunities related to performance, stability, and monitoring. Qualifications Application Support & Operations Strong experience in application production support and operations. Solid understanding of production operations management. Proven ability to manage IT / Business relationships. Awareness of IT security and cybersecurity best practices. Core Technical Skills ITSM & Production: ServiceNow Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL), Unix, Windows Containers & Platforms: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift CI/CD & Automation: Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform Scripting: Python, Shell, YAML Observability & Monitoring: Splunk, ELK, SysDig, Dynatrace Scheduling: Control-M Cloud: IBM Cloud Middleware & Integration: Kafka, CFT, Spring Boot Security: Illumio, strong authentication mechanisms Methodologies & Frameworks ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Resilience & Business Continuity principles: Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) Business Continuity Plans (BCP) High Availability (HA) Transversal & Analytical Skills Strong problem analysis and resolution capabilities.
