REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer or Application Documentation Specialist in IT or Federal environments.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Hands-on experience documenting application workflows, logic, integrations, and APIs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, such as DoD 8140.03.
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Word, Visio, SharePoint, and Confluence.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active DoD 8140.03 Qualification
  • CISSP or Security+ certification (must have at least one)
  • Previous experience supporting Federal Government or DoD contracts
  • Understanding of system authorization processes (RMF, ATO)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Arch Systems is seeking a highly skilled Application Documentation Specialist with a strong background in technical documentation and application programming to support a Federal agency project. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Power Platform and will play a critical role in producing, maintaining, and organizing detailed application documentation to support software development, deployment, maintenance, and security compliance efforts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for applications built on the Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Translate complex technical processes and application logic into clear, user-friendly documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers, project managers, and cybersecurity teams to gather and verify application data, code logic, and system architecture for documentation purposes.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with DoD 8140.03, security, and quality standards.
  • Support lifecycle documentation needs, including system design documents (SDDs), user guides, configuration guides, installation procedures, SOPs, and security artifacts.
  • Maintain version control and documentation integrity across project phases.
  • Assist in preparing materials for audits, security assessments, and system accreditations.
  • Provide documentation support for change management processes.
