TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Essential:

• Supporting a varied and dynamic environment within an investment bank/insurance/fintech or similar with some product knowledge in the asset classes detailed above.
• Some experience of general SQL Server tasks. As well as a good understanding of SQL
• Some knowledge of Scripting, UNIX, Linux, T-SQL
• Good overall IT knowledge including.NET and\or Java technologies (WE ARE NOT looking for a Software Developer but someone who has basic understanding.
• Fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and a pro-active attitude.

A point of contact for any user System & Application queries and issues, ranging from simple technical tasks to complex business issue investigations. Ensuring timely resolution and good communication for all issues.
Form a close working relationship with development teams to communicate user requirements, identify common support issues (including root cause) and recommend changes to improve future platform supportability.
The role may be required to assist with some degree of testing new releases in a UAT capacity and also manage some production releases.
The role will require a good understanding of the standard windows environment and specifically experience of supporting a complex .NET/SQL/Oracle/Unix application suite.
Should be self-motivated with an interest to pick up new skills and areas of work.
