An international IT service & solutions provider is seeking a technically skilled Manufacturing Application Support Engineer - Production/Manufacturing in Liberty NC area with hands-on experience in production / manufacturing environments to ensure the stability, reliability, and high performance of their shop floor applications.
This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing systems (PLC, SCADA, MOM, MES) alongside strong SQL capabilities, application architecture knowledge, and solid networking fundamentals.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Manufacturing & OT Systems:
• PLC programming/troubleshooting, SCADA platforms, MOM/MES applications, shop floor integration.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL (complex joins, indexing, query optimization).
• Monitoring/Observability: Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch, New Relic.
• Logging: ELK Stack, Fluentd, Grafana Loki.
• Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, ALB, VPC, S3), Docker, Terraform.
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
• Networking: TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS, DNS, and debugging tools (curl, tcpdump, dig, Wireshark).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience supporting manufacturing IT systems in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, MOM/MES systems and shop floor data flows.
• Experience with cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Automation skills using Shell scripting or Python.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional engineering and production teams.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Experience in multilingual or global support environments; Japanese language skill is a plus.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications and databases connected to production equipment (including PLCs, SCADA systems, and MOM/MES platforms).
• Collaborate with production teams to streamline shop floor workflows and improve system efficiency.
• Gather specifications and requirements for enhancements to existing manufacturing IT systems.
• Provide technical expertise to improve the reliability, scalability, and uptime of production systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for shop floor IT infrastructure.
• Generate reports on daily activities, system performance, and production meetings.
• Support incident management and root cause analysis for manufacturing system issues.
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift 10-25 pounds if needed. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision and hearing.
