Description

Piper Companies is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join an established Healthcare organization located in Maryland. This is a remote contract to possible hire opportunity. The Application Support Engineer will
ensure the stability and functionality of systems supporting the Health Information Exchange Portal and APIs, serving as a tier-2 support resource and coordinating system access, integration, and operational improvements.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER:

  • Analyze logs and data to identify patterns, proactively detect trends, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform daily operational tasks to ensure system health, while maintaining compliance with privacy and security policies.
  • Troubleshoot API and connectivity issues in collaboration with customers, internal teams, and vendors.
  • Respond to escalated support requests from tier-1, and assist in extending services for existing customers.
  • Refine technical processes for efficiency and mentor junior staff as needed

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER:

  • Demonstrated understanding of computer science principles, programming, and system ownership, including API and interface support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and resolve complex technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to create, interpret, and refine technical documentation and processes to drive efficiency and system reliability.
  • Experience with healthcare IT and integrations, including SSO standards such as OIDC and SAML 2.0.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure (including monitoring tools), Salesforce (Salesforce Administrator Credential preferred), Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Intermediate to advanced fluency in KQL, Python, SQL, and SOQL, with experience crafting complex queries and troubleshooting APIs.
  • Familiarity with networking principles and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
