We are seeking a customer-focused, highly motivated, and technically proficient Application Support Technician to join our IT Business Consulting, Development and Automation Team. This role will support with application and environment maintenance, building and executing test cases, along with supporting hands-on implementation of low-code applications using the Mendix platform. We are looking for someone who understands business needs and can communicate technical details effectively to people of all levels. What you’ll do

  • Track and report on the maintenance effort for supporting all locally developed applications within the business
  • Second level support for application issues
  • Work with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Splunk to capture application issues and track application/database performance whilst suggesting improvements
  • Review code and implement additional logging where needed to support monitoring
  • Support developers by completing allocated development tasks
  • Build and execute test plans for applications through the Azure Test Plans Suite
  • Support the testing effort in our non-production environments
  • Identify bugs and attempt to resolve them before liaising with developers for support
  • Consult with business departments on the introduction of new technologies and processes
  • Co-ordination and execution of projects including the documenting of solutions and technical concepts
  • Maintain the IT project and solution portfolio to ensure accurate reporting

What you’ll need

Required:

  • Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, IT or Software Development, or a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role with client-facing experience
  • Experience with low-code application development such as Mendix, Outsystems, PowerApps etc. (or other software development experience)
  • Experience using monitoring tools and communicating necessary actions
  • A keen problem-solver with the ability to use critical thinking to find the most productive solution
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated knowledge of the FMCG industry
  • Comfortable with learning new systems and getting hands-on with solutions
  • Understanding of KPIs and SLAs with proven ability to adhere to them
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues of all levels
  • Experience of working in a project team preferably following the Agile methodology.
  • Full driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with data analysis methods and tools
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools – PowerShell, Python, Ansible etc.
  • Project management certifications such as Prince, PMP, CompTIA Project+ etc.
  • German language skills are desirable but not required
