Description The Applications Technician will be responsible for programming, testing, and repairing various motor systems, including servo and spindle motors, while maintaining a strong understanding of control systems and electrical schematics. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in electrical theory, ensuring high-quality service and repairs. Essential Job Responsibilities: Program and use variable frequency drives, servo drives, spindle drives, and amplifiers. Review and interpret electrical schematics. Review, program, and test encoder systems, including absolute and incremental encoders. Maintain a library of motor testing setups and update with new procedures. Repair servo and spindle motors, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, bearing replacement, feedback system alignment, and test running. Create or modify plugs and control setups for different types of servo and spindle motors. Research servo and spindle system control procedures. Work with AC voltage up to 600V and DC voltage up to 1,000V. Precision balance rotating apparatus. Document and create repair reports. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Perform additional tasks as required by the company. Minimum Qualifications Understanding of closed-loop and open-loop control systems Strong mechanical aptitude Electrical theory understanding Ability to use an oscilloscope, power supplies, digital multimeters, and other electrical test equipment Excellent computer literacy Circuit board repair and computer programming experience are a plus but not required Demonstrate good soldering skills Experience working with permanent magnet motors is a plus.
