As an Application Engineer with AWC you would be supporting our sales team by working with customers to understand their applications and projects.  You will discuss how technology can be implemented for improvement, and occasionally assist with the implementation. The successful candidate must be innovative, passionate, and resourceful while demonstrating technical skills. This is an office based position in Austin TX. How you’ll make an impact: * Communicate how to implement technical solutions with some of our key accounts * Work with our inside and outside sales team to implement word-class technology solutions * Teach concepts from the basics of electricity and motor control to complex SCADA database management and networking * Provide technical support for the following products/technologies: PLC, I/O, HMI, SCADA, Drives, Synchronized Motion Control, Networking, WiFi, Radios, Motor Controls, Control Panel Design, and Power Distribution * Troubleshoot existing facilities and networks to get customers back up and running * Develop Bills-Of-Material based on customer requirements * Demonstrate hardware and software proficiency * Document best practices and share with colleagues * Motivated self-starter with the unique ability to manage a complex schedule Skills you’ll need: * 2- or 4-Year Technical Degree (Engineering preferred) * Minimum of 2 years of Automation and Electrical industry experience * Strong technical aptitude * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite * Self Confidence and the ability to manage conflict * Ability to manage a team to meet multiple deadlines and approvals with strict attention to detail * Positive attitude/strong team player * Siemens PLC & Drive automation experience Here’s what will set you apart: * Bachelor’s degree (ME or EE preferred ) * Expanded level knowledge of Electrical and Automation products, including but not limited to PLC’s, IO’s, Safety Devices, Enclosures, Motor Starters, Variable Frequency Drives, Pneumatics, Sensors, Panelboards, etc. * Understanding of electricity, panel design/wiring, manufacturing/OEM experience * Programming experience and an aptitude for programming The Rewards: * Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) * 401(K) Match * Competitive Pay * Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Package * Employer Paid Life Insurance * Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay * Career Development Opportunities About AWC As employee co-owners, we’re driven to do more than complete tasks; we build fulfilling careers by challenging assumptions and continually raising the bar. Responsibilities
The Applications Engineer will support the sales team by engaging with customers to understand their projects and discussing the implementation of technology for improvement, occasionally assisting with the actual implementation. Key duties include communicating technical solutions to key accounts, teaching technical concepts, and providing technical support for various automation products.
