THE DEPARTMENT
Our Digital Technology Service has been configured not only to deliver excellent IT Services, but also to drive major IT development and change. It is a large service focused on enabling, implementing and supporting a wide range of technology to meet the needs of the University Community.
This technology must be affordable, high quality, resilient and meet a broad range of needs.
DTS is made up of a Digital Architecture team and a large Digital Strategy area, which includes Digital Delivery (Applications; Cloud, Networks and Infrastructure), IT Support and Digital Change. The service is made up of over 120 FTE member of staff and is based across two centrally located buildings.
DTS works within a unified professional services model, ensuring that we can take a consistent and coherent approach to technology across the university. We work in partnership with other professional service areas such as Transformation, Student & Academic Services, and Estates & Facilities, and engage external expertise as necessary.

Digital Technology Services (DTS) is a large service focused on enabling, implementing, and supporting a wide range of technology to meet the needs of the University community.
As Applications Service Manager you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a consistent and excellent professional service whilst ensuring compliance to statutory regulations and the Universities strategy. You will lead a team which has Consultant Applications Analysts, Senior Applications Analysts and Applications Analysts, you will also work with third party consultants.
You will be leading the service along with one of the Head of Applications, mentoring staff, reviewing policies and technical standards, overseeing reactive support alongside the development of productive internal and external relationships. You will be working alongside members of the Applications team to ensure the service operates as effectively and efficiently as possible for the needs of the University.
Experience of building strong working relationships with key senior stakeholders to enable future decision making and planning alongside mentoring team members will also be great experience to bring to the role.
