Description

Applied AI Researcher / Engineer – Student or Graduate

About the opportunity

We are looking for a university student or recent graduate who is interested in applying artificial intelligence to real-world business problems. You will work alongside an experienced team to help explore, prototype and build AI-enabled solutions, including the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) to support products and services operating in complex or regulated environments.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has developed strong AI and programming skills through university, personal projects, internships or research and wants to apply those skills in a commercial environment.

What you’ll be doing

You may be involved in:

• Developing and testing AI-enabled solutions and prototypes.

• Using Python to build and support AI pipelines and harnesses.

• Working with Large Language Models and related AI technologies.

• Experimenting with approaches to improve the accuracy, reliability and quality of AI outputs.

• Exploring techniques to reduce hallucinations and improve AI performance.

• Undertaking research and experimentation to solve specific product or business problems.

• Supporting the development of AI-enabled products in complex or regulated environments.

• Documenting findings and sharing recommendations with the broader team.

What we’re looking for

You may currently be studying or have recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.

Ideally, you will have:

• Good working knowledge of Python and experience with AI and machine learning frameworks.

• Foundational knowledge of LLMs and other language models, such as BERT.

• Experience experimenting with AI through university coursework, research, hackathons, internships or personal projects.

• An understanding of prompting, evaluation and methods for improving AI output quality.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Curiosity about emerging AI technologies and how they can be applied to practical problems.

• The ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Experience within tax, legal, compliance or another regulated environment would be useful but is not required.

  • • A background in AI and LLM research is preferred
