JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a clinical or counselling psychologist or child and adolescent psychotherapist. This is an exciting new post to develop and ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist clinical psychology service to families and staff in the neonatal teams and inpatient paediatric teams at Epsom and St Helier.
The role will include providing highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention with families within the neonatal unit and paediatric inpatients, offering advice and consultation on psychological aspects of care to other health professionals and supporting clinical team members. The postholder will work autonomously, within recognised professional guidelines as part of the teams. The post holder will be expected to utilise their knowledge of evidence based psychological interventions and research skills to implement audit, research and service development projects. The postholder will also be involved in the training and continuing professional development of clinical psychologists and other health professionals. The postholder will be part of the wider paediatric psychology team and the Trust Clinical health psychology provision.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB
Assessment and intervention with families within the neonatal units
Provision of specialist psychological advice and consultation to multi-disciplinary teams - neonatal and paediatric inpatient
Supporting neonatal staff teams
Liaison with wider specialist services
Service audit and evaluation
Participation in wider neonatal network
