JOIN OUR TEAM AS AN APPRENTICE 310T MECHANIC!

Based out of our Mount Forest facility and reporting to the Shop Foreman, an Apprentice 310T Mechanic is responsible for learning and in-turn executing the day-to-day preventative and post incident repairs of a large fleet of commercial vehicles. This fast paced, but diligent stewardship will assist in the diagnosis and assigned repairs for mechanical issues and problems discovered in various commercial school buses and civilian class vehicles. The incumbent will maintain a strong sense of customer service while interacting with various stakeholders including School Bus Drivers, Dispatchers, Managers, Peer Mechanics and Governmental Agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered 310T Apprentice
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions
  • Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices in particular within the School Bus industry an asset
  • Ability to work in a team-based, collaborative work environment

Responsibilities
  • Perform Brake and Safety Inspections, carry out preventative maintenance
  • Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion each month
  • Perform service calls and cold starts as required
  • Ensure you have knowledge of our safety policies and adhere to them
  • Perform additional vehicle repairs as needed
  • Adhere to compliance-based regulations from a Company, Federal, Provincial and Municipal perspective
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace
