APPRENTICE AGRICULTURAL MECHANIC

Our expanding Plant & Machinery Maintenance Team plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our extensive fleet across all courses.

Reporting to the Head of Plant & Machinery Maintenance, the Apprentice Agricultural Mechanic will:

  • Undertake preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of golf course equipment.
  • Support the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient machinery operations both on- and off-site.
  • Work as part of a professional and supportive team committed to service excellence.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail with high work standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to maintain detailed maintenance records.

SOFT SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

ACADEMIC & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Full driving licence.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age by 1st September 2025.
  • Successful candidates will be required to attend an interview.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on equipment (diesel, petrol, and electric).
  • Maintain and service mowers, tractors, rollers, utility vehicles, and other machinery.
  • Complete regular servicing and mower blade sharpening.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records, including parts and inventory.
  • Train and guide team members in preventive maintenance and equipment use.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.
