In this role you will have the chance to work across two teams: Planning and Performance and LADO Safeguarding in the Communication, Planning and Performance division of Children’s Services. Our administrators play a key role in supporting the Council. They help us to provide a better service to the people of East Sussex. You will work on specific tasks set by the team members, with time to complete the required coursework for your apprenticeship. Through this apprenticeship you will gain the knowledge, skills and experience to take you forward to the next step of your career. The Planning and Performance team supports Children’s Services by helping to plan, monitor and improve how services work. We help coordinate inspections, support managers with information handling (such as data protection and data quality), and assist with health and safety arrangements. The team also helps manage business risks, emergency planning, and requests for information such as Data Protection and Freedom of Information requests. The LADO Safeguarding team (Local Authority Designated Officer) helps make sure concerns about adults who work or volunteer with children are handled properly and safely. The team provides advice to organisations, works closely with the police and social care, and ensures the right procedures are followed so that children are protected. The team does not carry out investigations but supports a fair and timely process.
