Location: Portsmouth, Emsworth & Surrounding Areas
Company: C. Lillington Carpentry
Hours: 35–40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Weekend overtime available)
Wage: Starting at £7.55 per hour (with regular reviews and pay increases based on performance)

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you’ll be working alongside skilled tradespeople on a variety of domestic building projects, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of carpentry and construction. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from the ground up, develop practical skills, and grow with a company that values its people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in day-to-day carpentry tasks including stud walling, flooring, roofing, and fitting doors, windows, and skirting boards
  • Help with structural work on lofts, extensions, and garage conversions
  • Learn how to read technical drawings and follow building plans
  • Measure and cut materials under supervision
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Load and unload tools and materials
  • Listen, observe, and ask questions to build your knowledge and skillset
  • Be punctual, reliable, and contribute positively to the team
