THE ROLE

Alba Thermal Springs & Spa is a luxury spa and hot springs destination located in Fingal.
Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner, Thyme’s menu has been created by well-known Melbourne chef, restauranteur, cookbook author and television presenter, Karen Martini – showcasing locally sourced, seasonal produce served alongside excellent coffee, herbal tea blends, local cold-pressed juices and signature cocktails.
We are currently expanding our kitchen team and are seeking a passionate Apprentice Chef —whether you’re just beginning your culinary journey or a 2nd or 3rd-year apprentice looking to build on your skills in a dynamic, supportive environment.
We will provide flexibility with days and hours across a rotational roster.
We offer a competitive hourly rate + superannuation + plus penalty rates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with organising & preparing food
  • Use methods of cookery as shown by the Head Chef and through formal studies
  • Prepare food items in accordance with menu requirements using standard recipes and production methods as directed by the Head Chef
  • Assist food production as directed by the Head Chef
  • Ensure all working areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Actively observe, learn and practice commercial cookery as per requirements of apprenticeship
