The Greyhound on the Test is looking for a Commis Chef or Apprentice Commis Chef. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn and advance within an award winning Inn. The primary objective of the Level 2 Commis Chef apprenticeship is to teach a range of key skills on the job and the course will take up to 12 months to complete so the ideal applicant needs to be dedicated to what they are trying to achieve. Progression from this apprenticeship is expected to be into a Chef de Partie role or Senior Production Chef role.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene
  • Preparing the ingredients for a more senior chef
  • Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately
  • A good kitchen team player
  • Able to follow food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are carefully adhered to

An apprentice needs no previous experience as full training will be given.
Must have their own transport.
